Drive Way Welcome Flags

Last week, Peters brother, Brian drove to Portland and took the ferry to Yarmouth.  He arrived at the cottage before noon, Thursday.

Morning at Grandview Cottage

After Bri was settled, while I went to town for groceries, Peter took him for a tour of the property.

When I returned home we sat out on the deck enjoying the evening while Peter smoked salmon for dinner.

The next morning we had coffee back out on the deck. After breakfast we went to see the Sandy Point Lighthouse.

At low tide, the lighthouse can be accessed without getting wet.  If you walk out at low tide you must be careful not to get caught up in the incoming tide. We just walked along the beach and the tide pools.

After visiting the lighthouse we drove into town to walk historic Dock Street.  We stopped  at The Bean Dock restaurant for lunch.   My favorite sandwich has always been their egg salad. For a special treat we had the bacon wrapped Digby Scallop Burritos. That is now, my new favorite dish at the Bean Dock! It was delicious . . .

During lunch  a freak storm blew in with high wind and hail. Once it stopped we drove back home for more time sitting out on the deck. It turned into an amazing evening with the almost full moon rising over Blue Island.
